"I really didn’t like one of my canines. It was way up there. You couldn’t see it when I smiled so it looked like I had a gap. I also didn’t like that they were crowded.
I was worried because I needed an expander and I really didn’t want one. My friend who went another orthodontist had an expander. She couldn’t talk and said it hurt all the time. But it really wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t have any problems talking and didn’t hurt either.
I was also concerned because I was going to be starting high school soon and I didn’t want to go through high school with braces. In the end, I only had them during my freshman year, so it wasn’t a problem. I didn’t really affect my social life because all my friends had them too.
My mom and I didn’t even consider going anywhere other than Dunn Orthodontics. A couple of my really good friends went there and they were really happy. My friends who went to other orthodontists were complaining about how much it hurt. I even got my braces off sooner than expected.
Throughout the process, I liked watching my teeth change. I took a picture before I got my braces on and throughout watching how they changed and when I finally got them off, I thought it was cool. It wasn’t the same smile.
Dr. Matt was really cool and nice. I liked his sense of humor. They all have a great sense of humor and they’re really people persons. It was never awkward like when you go to the dentist and they don’t really talk to you. They talk to you.
